E-mail Marketing for Higher Conversions - Checklist

Did you make a spelling error in your social media post? Well, edit and correct it.
Provided a wrong landing page to an Adwords campaign? Edit and correct it.
Wrong creative on a banner design? You can still edit and reprint it.

But once you hit that send button on your email marketing campaign, there’s no going back. There is no un-send button for your email campaigns if you have made any mistake. Also, since emails have the highest open rate and ROI among digital mediums, these mistakes can be very costly.

Thus, to ensure that your email marketing campaigns remain error-free and generate a good ROI for you, we have gathered below a 10-point checklist that should be followed before making any email campaign live.

Fig: E-mail Marketing Checklist for successful email campaigns

1)      Send emails from your custom domain name such as “reply@yourdomain.com” or “contact@yourdomain.com” instead of something like “donotreply@yourdomain” as the later would discourage your users from engaging with you and address their any concerns or queries.
2)      Double check your heading and subject line for capitalization, grammar, spelling errors and relevancy to your email copy. Also, ensure that you do not over-hype your subject line and avoid all CAPS as it may result in your email landing in spam folders.
3)      If you are segmenting your email campaigns to different users, ensure that you are sending the correct emails to the correct mailing list.
4)      Check for grammar, punctuation and spelling errors within the email body.
5)      If you are sending out an online coupon code or voucher, double-check the code and ensure that it is working the same way as it should when the customer tries to use it.
6)      Avoid cold sales pitch in your email body. Make sure that it is offering something valuable to the users.
7)      Use a single call-to-action in your email so that the users don’t get confused and know what they need to do after reading the mail.
8)      Ensure to add an image in your mail body to make it more engaging. But make sure that you add some text as well, rather than only image.
9)      Make sure that your email is personalized. It should address every user as an individual.
10)   Once everything is set, send the email to yourself and some trustworthy friends and colleagues and ask for their feedback on the email. Check all the grammar and punctuations as well. Also, open the email on your smartphone to ensure that it is mobile-friendly as well.

Only, when all of the above boxes are ticked, hit the send button to your users.

We all, as humans, are bound to make mistakes but we should ensure that while accomplishing important tasks, the mistakes should be minimal (maybe absolutely zero).  And so, it is best advised to hire proficient email marketing agencies in Mumbai to carry out your email marketing services as the professionals here, ensure that all of your email campaigns are perfectly optimized to the best of their ability and generate desired results for your brand!
